What this page is for
Here you change the wording of one message on one channel (for example the invitation email). You can preview it with sample values, send a test to yourself, and go back to the original at any time.
Who can use it
People with the Change message templates permission (by default Admin) and the account owner.
How to change the wording
- Change the Subject (emails only) and the Message.
- To add a placeholder, put the cursor where you want it and select it in the Placeholders list.
- Select Preview to see the result with sample values. Nothing is saved yet.
- Select Save.
How to send yourself a test
Select Send a test to me. An email with sample values goes to your own email address, using the wording in the form, even if you haven't saved it. Tests for SMS or WhatsApp wording also arrive by email.
How to go back to the original
Select Use the original and confirm. Your wording for this channel is removed.

| Characters | How long the message is | For SMS, one message holds 160 characters (70 with non-Latin letters). |
| Placeholders | Words in double curly brackets, such as {{guest_first_name}}, that are replaced with real values when sent |
Only the placeholders listed for this message can be used. |

SMS, WhatsApp and booking channel messages are plain text. Links are sent as web addresses.
Statuses and automation
- Original wording means the shipped text is used. Changed means yours is.
- Placeholders are filled in safely: a value can never add formatting, links or code to your message.
- Long dashes are replaced with a hyphen or a comma when you save (house style).
- Changes are recorded in the change history.
Settings that change this page
- Branding: logo, colours and the email footer's tagline.
- Your organisation's legal name in Settings appears in the email footer.
FAQs
What does {{company_name}} contain? Your organisation's name. {{product_name}} is the product name from Branding. Both work in every message.
Do WhatsApp changes need approval? Yes. WhatsApp requires Meta to approve business messages. Submit the new wording in your WhatsApp Business account before it can be sent.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "These placeholders are not available in this template" | Check the spelling against the Placeholders list, or remove the placeholder. |
| A placeholder shows as empty in the preview | It has no sample value; the real value is filled in when sent. |
| The test email didn't arrive | Check your spam folder, and ask your administrator to check the email setup. |
| A button shows as a plain link | Put the link on a line of its own, with an empty line before and after. |
