Two-step verification at sign-in

Entering the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or a recovery code if you lost your phone.

What this page is for

When two-step verification is on for your account, signing in has two steps: your password, then a short code from an app on your phone. Even if someone learns your password, they can't sign in without your phone.

Who can use it

Anyone who has turned on two-step verification on the Password and sign-in page.

How to finish signing in

  1. Open your authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password).
  2. Find the entry for CityLights and type the 6-digit code it shows.
  3. Select Verify.

How to use a recovery code

  1. Select Lost your phone? Use a recovery code.
  2. Type one of the recovery codes you saved when you turned the feature on.
  3. Select Sign in with recovery code. Each code works only once.
