Website analytics

How guests use your booking website: visitors, listing views, checkouts, bookings, searches and what they could not find.

What this page is for

See where guests drop out between arriving on your booking website and booking, which places and destinations they look at, and what they searched for that you do not offer. It needs no cookies and no cookie banner.

Who can use it

See booking website analytics (by default Admin, Sales and Finance).

How to

  1. Choose the dates (the last 30 days by default) and select Show.
  2. Read the four steps from Visitors to Bookings. Each shows the share of the step before, so you can see where guests stop.
  3. Check Searches that found nothing for places or words guests expect from you.
  4. Use the listing table to find places with many views but few bookings: their photos, price or description may need work.
  5. To offer checkout reminders, turn on Offer checkout reminders in the module settings.

Fields and columns

Field Meaning
Visitors Different visitors per day, added up over the dates. A visitor is recognised for one day only.
Listing views Times a listing page was opened.
Checkouts started Times a guest picked dates and reached the checkout.
Bookings Reservations made on the website or through the widget.
Revenue Those reservations' totals, in your base currency at each month's rate.
Searches with no results Searches that found no place, with their share of all searches.
Average days booked ahead From the booking day to check-in.
Average nights per stay Nights booked divided by bookings.
Cancellations Website and widget reservations cancelled on these dates.
Bookings from the widget Reservations that started on another website through the widget.

Statuses and automation

Search engines and other robots are left out. Every hour, the totals of finished days are stored and detailed records older than the days kept are deleted. Today's figures are worked out live. When reminders are on, a guest at checkout can ask for one email about the stay; it is sent an hour after their held dates lapse, only if they did not book, and never more than once.

FAQs

Why does this differ from Google Analytics? Visitors are counted per day without cookies, and robots are left out, so numbers are lower but steadier.

Do staff bookings count? No. Staff, channel and API reservations appear in the operations reports.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to do
Everything is zero Check the booking website is published and guests reach it at its address.
