What this page is for
A watchdog. Every few minutes it checks for problems: bookings not coming in from your channel manager, guests waiting too long for an answer, a unit's occupancy falling. When it finds a new problem it emails it once. Nothing is sent while all is well.
Who can use it
See operations alerts (by default Admin and Operations). Send a test alert and run the checks now (Admin). Receive operations alert emails (Admin) decides who gets the emails when no addresses are set.
How to
- Right now lists open problems. Select Open to go where you fix it.
- Select Run the checks now to check at once instead of waiting.
- Select Send a test email to check the emails arrive. It lists what is wrong now, or says all is well, and doesn't change what counts as already sent.
Fields and columns
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| What is checked | The checks of the modules you have on: Beds24 booking sync, guests waiting for an answer, occupancy falling. |
| Emails go to | The addresses in the settings, or everyone with Receive operations alert emails. |
| Recent runs | When the checks ran, how many problems were open and new, and how many emails went out (last 14 days). |
Statuses and automation
- Beds24 sync: no bookings synced for six sync intervals, and at least 30 minutes.
- Guests waiting: a guest message unanswered for the "guest waiting" hours of the inbox (2 by default), one alert per conversation.
- Occupancy falling: from the 8th of the month, a unit's occupancy so far is the set points below the same days of last month.
- A problem is emailed once. When it is fixed it is forgotten, so it is emailed again if it comes back.
- If an email can't be sent, the problem stays new and is tried again on the next run.
- With an AI connection, the email starts with a two or three sentence summary. Without AI it lists the problems only.
Settings that change this page
Admin → Settings → Operations alerts: on or off, how often (at least every 5 minutes), who gets the emails, the occupancy drop in points, and the AI summary. The email wording is the Operations alert message template.
FAQs
Will I get an email every 15 minutes about the same problem? No, only once until it is fixed.
Does it need AI? No. AI only writes the summary.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Nobody to email" | Add addresses in the settings, or give someone Receive operations alert emails. |
| The test email doesn't arrive | Check the mail settings and the spam folder. |
| A check I expect is missing | Its module is off (for example Beds24). |
