What this page is for
Every time anyone creates, changes or deletes a record, or changes a setting, CityLights writes an entry here. Use it to answer "who changed this, and what was it before?".
Who can use it
People with View the change history permission (by default Admin, Finance and Viewer) and the account owner.
How to find a change
- Choose a Person, a Record type and/or an Action.
- Optionally set From and To dates (days in your organisation's timezone).
- Select Filter.
- Select an entry to open it and see each changed field with its value Before and After.
Fields and columns
| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Action badge | Created, Updated, Deleted, Restored, Setting changed and so on. |
| Summary | A one-line description, such as Updated user "Grace Mensah". |
| Time and person | When it happened, in your timezone, and who did it. "System" means an automatic job. |
| Record type and IP | The kind of record, and the network address the change came from. |
| Field, Before, After | Each changed value. Secrets such as passwords are never stored or shown. |
Statuses and automation
- Entries can't be edited or deleted by anyone.
- Entries older than the retention period in Settings are removed automatically every night (default 2 years).

FAQs
Why don't I see passwords or security codes? They are deliberately excluded to keep them secret.
Can I export the history? Export arrives with the reports module.
Troubleshooting

| Nothing appears | Clear the filters. A date range or person filter may exclude everything. |
